style me pretty

I have been a big fan of the Style Me Pretty blog. It's chock block full of wedding design, inspiration and pretty pictures! The wedding industry went into a bit of a buzz earlier last week when SMP launched the Style Me Pretty Magazine! If you already follow the blog, you may recognize some of the images as the first issue features the best of 2010.

Don't let that stop you though. Just keep turning those pages back and forth and ooh and aahh along with the rest of us.

wedding ideas :: paint chips

via Martha Stewart

We had a bride and groom use this idea for name cards for their wedding last month at the UBC Boathouse. Their weddings colours were turquoise and red, so she picked up paint chips in different shades of those two colours.

Brillant!

Let them eat cake! part 1

Miniature cakes cut out with cookie cutters... decorated with sanding sugar and placed on individual doilies!

I always find the Croquembouche amazing, but never quite know how to eat it. Do you cut it and serve it up? I have only seen it where it is on display and people go up and pick parts off to eat.

Perfect for a garden party!

more Alycia and Chris

We have been so lucky this year to have the opportunity to work with an amazing list of wedding couples and vendors! The best part of this wedding? It was probably a tie between the surprise Polish dancers ....

... and the most awesome choreographed first dance ever!

melissa + chris

Simply put, Melissa and Chris rock! Seriously.

When their venue, Villa Amato, was only available for July 7th, they said "Fantastic, we are going to go with a 7-11 theme!". We had it all folks - slurpee machines, nacho cheese fountain, burrito station, gelato bar, mini hamburgers and hot dogs, fries in little cone cups and to top it al off, a candy bar with all of your favourite 5cent treats complete with mini plastic tongs!

One of my favourite components of the wedding was the handmade aspect. All of the bridesmaid dresses were handmade by Jane Bon Bon and one of the bridesmaids was actually the very crafty Rita aka Smeeta!

Cupcakes were freshly handmade by Lyndsay Sung from Coco Cake Cupcakes.

We had a top star wedding team including Kyra from Villa Amato, Flower Factory, Shannon at the Lazy Gourmet, Angela from Hubbard Photography and Tania from Chair Decor.

A different spin on the traditional centerpiece by the Flower Factory and the wedding couple.

Head over to Angela's blog for a sneak peek of more wedding photos.
