Tracey Heppner is one of the most nicest people in the universe. Seriously. Hand down. She spent the entire day at Indie I Do last January just hanging out and snapping beautiful images of our lovely vendors. Pictured above is our booth set up. Displays are always so difficult for me. I have two concerns: 1) To stay on budget and 2) To not have to transport / move too many things i.e. everything needs to fit in a Toyota Echo Hatchback.



My inspiration for this year... a blue and white checkered table cloth I thrifted from Portland. That white crinkly linen on top? That's an Ikea blanket. The petit fours? Made of felt and glue. The cutlery? That was a wedding present from Robert's sister that has never really been used except for Indie I Do booth displays. Everything else? Thrifted or from around the house. Oh yes... and the background? That's a 4ft x 8ft chalkboard that has hand drawn images of all things wedding planning by phanie.



I love it!

I never really understood the use of egg cups, but look! So pretty!


Paper garlands make everything look festive and they are simple to make. Materials: hole punch, pretty paper cut in any shape and paper clips or string to hold them together. If you have a sewing machine, feed them through or even try this with pieces of felt.

Did you also check out the baking molds holding the tea lights? There is a whole assortment of vintage baking tins for sale over at Ethanollie's Shop.


I have always loved incorporating fruit into decor pieces. What a nice and fresh surprise! Are you having a signature cocktail? Why not add some frozen grapes to a mix.

Need an alternative idea to name cards? They double up as favours and guests can stay green by planting them at home afterwards.

Baby breathe, like carnations, get a bad rap. Looking at this picture, you may want to think twice!

Balloons tied down with lollipops... love the look it creates. Maybe tie names, pictures and table numbers, so people have to make their way through and see which table they are sitting at. Always check with your venue first before working with balloons. High ceilings + rogue balloon may equal $$$ to get it down.


An alternative way to decorate your chivari chairs and the cake stand centerpiece!? Classic beauty!

I came across this image a while ago and had squirreled it away, so I'm not sure where exactly it came from. You can find a fantastic DIY tutorial on Design*Sponge to make your own cake stands. Great for all kinds of parties or as a centerpiece! You can also make mini ones with teacup saucers for individual guests. If you can get a good source of saucers, try finding patterns and colours that match your wedding.

I have a weakness for milk glass vases. They make fantastic centerpieces and unique home decor pieces. If you do get your hands on an amazing piece, make sure to snap it up! Milk glass should have a number marked on the bottom.

This image inspired our Indie I Do booth display (pictures coming soon!). Such a simple look and so easy to change by giving it some 'pow' with a coloured linen and / or vibrant flowers.

If you are wondering what is with the sudden barage of wedding inspired images, it started during the holiday break when I unearthed a binder full of images. Figured that I should share these fantastic ideas on the blog and make room on the shelf.

Such a sweet cherry blossom and peony theme. Love the placemats that can double up as a menu and name card.


Your centerpieces do not always have to match. Thrift containers that are made of a similar material or in various shades of your wedding colours. Also, love the table number runner.


School theme would be perfect for couples that are renting a hall, community center or school (duh!).


Rustic. The ribbons add a touch of colour and the mason jars with tealights just ties it all in.
