wouldn't it be nice ...

to live here ...

Recognize this? Own a piece of cinematic history (for a mere 2.3 million)! If you’ve seen Ferris Bueller’s Day Off (who hasn’t?) you’ll certainly recognize the garage that housed Cameron’s dad’s Ferrari (below). This modern glass and steel masterpiece, known as the Ben Rose Home, just went on the market in Highland Park, Illinois. It was designed by designed by A. James Speyer and David Haid and built in 1953.

The house is gorgeous, but I think I would feel like I was on display all the time. No more running around in my underwear, that's for sure!

to eat this ...

Banana chiffon cake. Need I say more?

congrats to B & P!

Last weekend was the kick off to the wedding season for us. We couldn't have asked for a nicer start!

It's always nice to have a good team, excellent vendors, an amazing couple and the perfect weather. Plus, it is always a fantastic little bonus when the venue is 3 blocks from your place! :D

The head table with an amazing and clear view to downtown Vancouver.

Thanks so much for the opportunity to be a part of your special day!

a DJ alternative

The Shellac Sisters are not quite local, but a great alternative for some unique music for your weddings and events.

The Shellac Sisters are four glamorous retrochics who dress in all things vintage and play 78rpm records on 1920s wind-up gramophones.

We have a vast collection of 78s covering all styles of music from the twenties through to the fifties… Big band swing by Benny Goodman, Glenn Miller and The Andrews Sisters, classics like Tea for Two and The Lambeth Walk, novelties by Noel Coward and cheeky music hall acts, 1920s flapper favourites, Hollywood movie classics from Gene Kelly, Fred Astaire and Marlene Dietrich, jumping jive by Cab Calloway and Louis Jordan, 1950s rock'n'roll from Elvis and bombshell hits from Marilyn Monroe, latin exotics by Carmen Miranda and Perez Prado… tea dancing foxtrots, quicksteps, blackbottoms and cockney knees ups!

Trying to take it a bit easy after Got Craft.. key word is "trying".

Checked out the 2009 graduation exhibit at Emily Carr

They had a picture of the same pair of converse sneakers I picked up on my last trip to Nordstroms!

Ate a butterfly pastry from New Town. Best in town!

Enjoyed the last of the cherry blossoms.

Picked up some plants for the vegetable garden (that's celery poking out behind Cleo).

Hand printed 400 tickets to Handmade Nation.

Melissa and Chris are getting married on July 11th, so of course we went with a 7-11 theme! That's right, complete with hot dog rollers, slurpee machines, nacho cheese... drool. Plus we have a line up of amazing vendors including the talented Angela Hubbard. You can visit her blog for more images.

Not only are they a super fun couple, but one of their close friends, and bridesmaids, is one of our crafters at Got Craft. We have gotten to know each other quite well through the craft circuit. Take a look at her super kawaii items on her blog and her website.

Got Craft? Wow!

Holy moly! Thank you to everybody that came out to Got Craft last Sunday at the legion and a BIG thank you to all of our vendors for making this the best Spring show that we have ever had! I was just telling Rob a few days before Got Craft how much I love seeing everybody and having the opportunity to meet facebook friends or etsy sellers face to face. It's like a big reunion!

I communicate with some people so much over email that when you finally meet them, you ...

A) pictured them completely different or
B) forget that you had never met face to face since you have been speaking to them so much electronically

I'm still recovering from all of the festivities, but I feel like I can breathe again. I'm sorry for the one photo, but that was all I had a chance to take. With me watching my table, socializing, checking on vendors and keeping an eye on the door, I completely forgot about picture taking.

Ps. Swag bag line up started at 7:40am this year. Wow! I had a few people say that at the holiday show, they may have to sleep over in the tent. Could you imagine? - hee hee :)

Here is a great post by A Cagey Bee and Make. Do. Think.

In totally unrelated news, I'm having some major issues with the got craft blog which is why it has been pretty quiet over there. I can't seem to load images and now my posts won't even show up. Getting totally frustrated, but hopefully this will solve itself soon. In the meantime, I will entertain you on this station!
