my lovelies

This is my wooden spool collection. Thought we would have a brief photo shoot before they got packed.

This whole packing thing isn't going very well though. We pick up the keys tomorrow, so I better get my behind in gear and at least start bringing some things over to the new place! Things are super insane here with Got Craft coming up on Sunday. I am putting together the swag bags and there are things everywhere!! It is hard to get around with out stepping on something or bumping into something. Of course, both Rob and I are also working tonight. He is bringing 15 people from PepsiCo to Glowbal while I bring another 15 to Brix. I have never been there before, so I can't wait!

happy birthday

how can this be possible?

wild rosemary bushes in oregon.

Rob celebrated one of those birthdays that ended with a "O" last week. Celebrations included lots of coffee, cheap mexican food ($11 US for 2 full meals plus appetizer plus a take away bag for me!), relaxing and plenty of good times.

We even scored a new (.. but old) kitchen table! More on that later.

In other news, we move on Thursday and I have a total of 5 boxes packed. This is not suppose to be stressful! Where did all this stuff come from!? Good grief. Trying to decide what to keep and what to sell is not as easy as it sounds.

a small hiatus...

(picture: Cleo posing with our treats from Mexico - thanks moo!)

You may have noticed that we haven't blogged for a few days. Well... the reason is that we are carrying around a very full plate right now! We move in 9 days... Got Craft is in 13 days... Friendzies is in 24 days.. and basically total chaos has erupted =) So I have decided to take a brief hiatus from the blog. I may pop in every now and then, but that would be about it. In the meantime, I am leaving you with a list of blogs that I read on an almost daily basis:

Angry Chicken
Its Your Life Handmade
Blue Skies and Daisies
little bird designs
Itty Bitty Kitty Committee
The Superficial
The Black Apple
Blue Olive Photography
Anh Minh
Poppytalk
Super Eggplant
Sew Occupied
West Coast Crafty
How About Orange
I Love PDX Homes
Blueberry Bandit

It's Rob's birthday on Friday.. you know.. one of those birthday's that end with a "0"... so we are going to head out of town for a few days starting Thursday and will be back for Portobello West on Sunday. Catch up with you soon!

gocco

We finally had a few moments between sessions at the Kiwanis Music Festival to test out the gocco! 100 reception invites have been printed! Now we need to attach the lovely buttons we received from the Mustache Press, gocco the envelopes, package them up and they will almost be ready for delivery!

Sorry for the dark pictures, but I was in a hurry.

it's definitely spring

Cleo is definitely going to miss our front lawn when we move. She likes to chew on the plants that dangle, frolick in the grass and roll in the dirt. Spring seems to have arrived. It's suppose to hit 21 degrees this Saturday!

our home

It is official. We are moving!

We currently live in Kerrisdale and although, it is a very nice neighbourhood, the 7-11 closes at 11pm! Yup. They gate it up and everything! We have been here for three years and actually know most of the people around us. People wave, smile and stop to chat here! Our claim to fame is that Clay St. Thomas from JRFM and formally Z95 lives next door to us! Why are we moving?

a) Need to live in an area where we can walk / bike to things so that we can drive less
b) Need more light
c) Our current place is being demolished (old family home)

I actually lived here when I was a wee little one with my parents, but I'm not sad that the house needs to go as I have no emotional ties to it. I think mentally, we have already moved out and we look forward to moving on! However, we have gotten quite comfortable with the amount of space we currently have and can't believe how much stuff we have accumulated. Our new place is approximately 650 sq ft, so we are definitely going to have to down size!

The pictures above are of our current place - hall to the bedroom / laundry / extra room / storage, kitchen, work area, tv area. Sorry for the mess... got craft swag / printing materials / craft stuff / things to go to the salvation army, etc. has taken over the place. =)

on our plate

First of all... I can't stop singing the ramen song! Good grief its catchy!

Everything seems to be moving in warp speed lately and it doesn't seem to be slowing down anytime soon. Got Craft is coming along nicely. We have now maxed out our venue at 40 vendors! I am still amazed at the quality of work and the amazing artists that are coming out to our "little" event. Wow! All the images and links are now up, so go check it out here.

Still plugging away at the Vancouver Kiwanis Music Festival. I believe I am now down to 60 or so spots to fill out of 224. We have two more weeks to go, so if you are interested in coming out to volunteer.. please let me know as we have morning / afternoon and evening shifts available!

This is the fourth year that we have been involved with the Friends for Life Volunteer Recognition event. This years' theme is Viva Las Vegas and we have plenty of wacky things planned for the event! Check out the invites that were generously donated to us by Blue Skies and Daisies (Design) and Clubcard (Printing).

Sorry for the lack of blogging lately.

I am in Vancouver Kiwanis Music Festival mode! The Festival started last Monday and ends on April 27th. There are 8 different venues and 224 volunteer shifts to fill. Interested in coming out? Contact us.

Also check out the got craft website and blog. I try to feature one of our vendors every few days, so if nothing is going over here, then visit us over there!

I leave you with the Ramen Song...

introducing our new services...

Did you know? lotus events now offers baby and dog sitting services!
Just kidding.

We watched our little buddy Alex on Thursday morning while Mommy went to run some errands. Unfortunately, I forgot the camera! Good times were had by all. Played with some cars, made a mess with the wooden blocks, read some books, drank some milk, ate some chips, watched Uncle Rob struggle to turn on the DVD player... ahh.. good times.

Next on the list is Roxy the (terrible) Jack Russell Terrier. Well.. she's more mischievous and in your face than terrible. We haven't seen her for quite a while and at first, I think she was wondering who the heck we were. It didn't take long to get re-acquainted and then we spent the night cuddled together and fighting for more bed space. Oh Roxy... you are so crazy! Her fur Mom and Dad are back Monday afternoon so until then our day is spent playing catch and chasing each other around the house.
