Aislewalk
Last Sunday was the Aislewalk magazine launch and what a party! We drove straight from Portland to be at this event and we had so much fun. The lemon drops and food was delish. The decor was fabulous and of course, my favourite thing at the party, the photobooth!
Remember Nicole and Jason from September 07? Nicole launched her very own wedding coordination company called Down the Aisle specializing in day of coordination. That's them in our aislewalk ad!
Aislewalk is one of the best wedding magazines out there. Not only is it packed full of information and helpful worksheets, but you can just tuck it into your purse and carry it to all of your vendor meetings. Want your very own copy? Contact us to pick one up or swing by the Indie I Do Wedding show on January 17th, 2009.

Got Craft!
Got Craft was sheer insanity! Shoppers were lined up at 9:00am for a 11:00am start time. Good thing they were early though, by 11:00am there was a good line up from the second floor to the street and around the corner. By 11:15am, 100 people had already come through the doors. That wasn't even the end of it. There was a line up to the street for the first two hours of the show. It was crazy. We had to close the doors, because there was so many people inside!
Our final attendee count came in at a whopping 1175 at 5:30pm (6pm closing). We had a very very busy few weeks distributing cards / posters, attending 12 different craft shows and just spreading the word and it looks like it paid off.
Here is a fabulous blog post from Michelle at Scout including some wonderful shots that she took of the event.
line up to get in!
busy shoppers!

last weekend
Last weekend was another whirlwind that included the Britannia Community Center Craft Fair, West End Community Center Craft Fair, the Roundhouse Community Center Craft Fair, Portobello West, I Heart Crafts Bazaar and a baby banquet. Plus I had some major allergies Sunday which didn't help the craziness that was all around.
I Heart was great. Nicole from Its Your Life and I shared a table. Pictures will be posted soon on the Got Craft blog.
In the meantime, here are some photos from the banquet last Saturday. (By the way, those are hard boiled eggs and not orange)

Sara & Judd
Sara and Judd were married at the UBC Boathouse last Saturday. It was a stressful, but wonderful time as they had also purchased a house a few weeks prior to the wedding and gained access the day before!
Congratulations you two!
Flowers from the Flower Factory
Cupcakes from Cupcakes
We had to do a quick flip of the room from ceremony to reception. Since guests were staying in the room, we tried to set up as much as possible so that we didn't have to move tables and chairs around people that were mingling.
These were quick snaps that I took of the venue during set up. Professional photos are on the way from Kyla and her lovely crew at Kyla Hemmelgarn Photography

the unloved blog
Things have been hectic lately. I don't even have a picture to post.
Hectic as in stand in the bathroom to curl your hair while drinking a cup of tea and balancing the laptop in the sink and returning emails with the hand that is not holding the red hot stick. I am the multi task queen. Quite frankly though, this queen needs a nap. Or maybe a cup of coffee with a biscuit.
Heads for nap..
Tails for coffee...

in with the new... out with the old
This is the old cover for my sewing machine.
This is my brand new sewing machine cover.
This is what it looks like from the inside.
Remember that awesome yellow and black oil cloth I picked up from Portland last summer, well I finally finished my project. The pieces were cut awhile ago, but I didn't get around to piecing everything together. That is.. until last night! I completed the swag bags for Got Craft just before 4:30pm, so I moved straight into sewing the trim and pieces. I love it. Waaaaayyyy better than the old cover. More projects are on the horizon.. stay tuned.

that time of year...
Yes, it's that time of year where I have to maintain, not one, but two blogs! Promotion for the December Got Craft event has begun. So if it seems pretty quiet on this end, go visit the Got Craft blog for upcoming craft events and other updates.
Ps. The jar of pom poms is totally unrelated, but I thought the post would be more interesting with a picture. Plus, I'm really excited about these pom poms. They have big plans. Hint: Holiday garland!

Apple Crumb Cake
This is really good. Like really REALLY good. I have tried them in both muffin form and mini cake / loaf form. Rob rated them 12 out of 10.
You can find the recipe for Apple Crumb Cake on Jeannette's blog called everybody likes sandwiches. I was secretly stalking her etsy shop a few years ago when I first started selling on etsy and I finally met her in person at the last I Heart Crafts Bazaar. I am also pleased to say that she will be one of our vendors at the December Got Craft.
You can visit her shop The Beautiful Project by clicking here.
If I have time, you may be able to try one of these delicious cakes for yourself at the show.
