I can see the light

Wow! What a week!

Thursday and Friday was spent at Cantrav and I had the opportunity to work in the new convention center that is yet to open to the public. All I can say is "Wow!". This place is incredible! Floor to ceiling windows, amazing lobby with beautiful walls, gorgeous open spaces... wow! wow! wow!

Saturday was spent at Metropolis at Metrotown for Reuse. Recycle. Reinvent!, the Earth Day event in partnership with the Vancouver Craft Mafia. The blurb says "Join a new wave of DIY designers that are taking recycling to the next level. From contemporary cardboard furniture to vintage fashion creations, they'll show you how to give your old items a second life." Designers included Rita from Smeeta, Astrid from Fire Ice Creations, Rebekah from Bliss in a teacup, Stephanie from Fibre Manipulator, Nicole from It's Your Life, Lia from Goodmorning, Morning! and me as Roxypop and Robert as Paper Boy.

After the Earth Day event, we headed over to check out Foux De Fu-Fu over at the Cambrian and somehow ended up on Main and 20th for free hot dogs and pop? W00t! Thanks to Vancouver Special for the tasty treats!

Sunday of course is SWAP-O-RAMA-RAMA at the Heritage Hall from 11:00am to 4:00pm. Admission is $6.00 plus a bag of clean clothes and / or a bag of craft supplies to swap and you can take as much as you can carry! Workshops starting at noon by Blim, the Mustache Press, Urban Source and Fibre Manipulator. Learn how to silk screen, make your own buttons, needle felt and craft with recycled materials. Including DIY sewing stations. For more information about the event, please visit the Swap O Rama Rama blog.
