Mad Men
Two posts in one day have been very rare lately, but I just wanted to tell you how obsessed I have been with Mad Men. I don't own a TV, so I have no idea when it is on, but google it and WATCH it!
The best part is the set design and the costumes. Go check out this website. Doesn't the dresses look so Joan?
more I Heart
I Heart Crafts last Sunday was a SUCCESS! It was held in Strathcona last Sunday at the Ukrainian Cultural Center. First of all, I love Strathcona. It is beautiful there and everybody is so friendly. Rob and I commented that it was like a little slice of Portland. Cute grocery / coffee / sandwich shops and all! The Ukrainian Cultural Center was really nice as well. Perfect for a small craft fair. They have these amazing wooden tables that is part of the Hall and I was drooling over them all day. I wanted to pick one up and just run... run.... RUN. I should have taken a picture. They were nice and old with a little pull out drawer with money slots. They must have been sitting in that center or someone's basement for years.
Rob and I also attended Blim as an attendee on Saturday. It was a busy weekend. Swap-o-rama-rama and Portobello West was also happening on the same weekend. It made me realize that I want to craft more, but thank goodness that I didn't do Blim and I Heart last weekend which I originally thought of doing. I would have never had enough stock. My apple cozies were a big hit! I only have one left. Thanks to Raquel for kicking my bum in gear!
Today is my one day off this week and I have so much on my plate. This week is my last corporate program that I have signed up for. I may have another one at the end of the month, but so far this is it. Which is fine by me. I'm feeling very burnt out this week. It's the end of the season and we have had one of the busiest Septembers and Octobers ever - woot!

crafts and marshmellows
I am just popping in to show off my latest crafts!
Key fobs, pin cushions and ponytail ties! I will be a vendor at the I Heart Crafts Bazaar this Sunday at the Ukrainian Cultural Center. Come visit me!
I also made some fresh, homemade vanilla marshmallows. Store bought is definitely more convenient, but these rule. You can find the recipe here.
(Look at those bags under my eyes! Eep! I have been off-site a lot lately and I think this is where I caught the cold / flu that I am currently battling.)
Rob's walk last Sunday was a success. Not only was it sunny for the few hours that the event was on for, but they raised a record amount to support the BCPWA!

cute!
Not quite back to blogging, but almost.
I found this picture while clearing the computer today. I swear.. that cat! If there is a box in the house, she will find it and sit in it no matter how small it may be.
In totally unrelated news.. guess what!? I saw Eddie Murphy today at the airport! Sorry, no picture. I was sort of in a tired and confused daze when I saw him. I believe he is shooting a Christmas movie at the airport. He wasn't very well dressed though. What's with the red t-shirt and black leather vest!?

be back soon
Things are absolutely insane over here! I have been busy working on other peoples' events and Rob is organizing the Scotiabank Aids Walk that will be taking place this Sunday.
Once things calm down next week, I will check back in.
It's the start of Autumn this weekend, so I hope everybody is out enjoying the last bits of warm sunshine!

more of witty and udo!
In most cases, when people hire a Wedding Coordinator, you meet the wedding couple months (sometimes years!) in advance. With all of the time spent together, it's hard not to get teary eyed during the ceremony. Well.. I'm not sure if Rob feels the same way, but I definitely do! Even looking at the wedding pictures after the wedding brings back wonderful times!
A sample of Witty and Udo's pictures are now up on Barbara Casey's blog from I Do Wedding Photography! You can check it out here.

crafty updates
Upcoming Craft Event Alert!
If you haven't marked your calendars yet, you should go check out the events calendar here.
Before summer started, Raquel from InspirAsian Creations asked me if I could make an apply cozy for her daughter. Of course I could! I went home and printed off a pattern that I found online. The pattern sat on my desk all summer! I finally picked it up last week and tried to teach myself how to use DPN's according to the pattern. Well, let's just say that I didn't get past casting on the 12 stitches. To make a long story short, many months later, I not only made 1 apple cozy, but so far I have 5 and I made them with my own pattern!
No more bruised apples at the bottom of your bag!
I also refilled my stock of organic cat nip cakes. This batch comes in neopolitan "flavours"!

last weekend
Last weekend was crazy and not in a good way.
A) Our computer went pollo loco and I lost half of my photos from Steph and Paul's wedding!!!
B) We accidentally broke one of the water pitchers that Erin from Fuego Events rented to us. She is taking it back to the store as it was a product malfunction, so fingers crossed
C) We went for breakfast on Sunday and came back to the picture above. Yup. Somebody backed into our car and drove away. Nice. Rob (a.k.a. Nancy Drew) went through the neighbourhood and found a dark grey pick up truck with a silver streak on the back bumper at the exact same height as our car. Interesting... We have a date with ICBC today, so hopefully the other car confesses.
Hope your weekend was a lot better!

steph + paul
As soon as the words "My wedding colours are yellow and black" came out, it was love at first sight. I can't even begin to explain how much I love you guys! Your entire family made us feel so welcome ever since we first met in February.
Here are some snap shots - ceremony was held at a private residence in West Vancouver and the reception was held at the Royal Vancouver Yacht Club. Thank you to Get Fresh for their beautiful flower arrangements and to Upright Decor for their fantastic chair covers!
Cute silhouettes of the couple printed on freezer paper and wrapped around voltives!

This picture is dedicated to A&B from blue skies and daisies
Centerpieces with fresh lemons!
Remember K&A? We had the pleasure of coordinating their wedding last June at the Rockwater Secret Cove Resort. We bumped into them at the wedding and they now have a new baby boy! Congratulations!
